Beauty Favs + Linkup

Confession: I'm out of outfit photos and it was really cold and rainy this weekend, which derailed my outfit shooting plans.  I also have a giant zit under my eye thanks to a crazy amount of stress at work.   What I did instead was clean my bathroom, prep cook for the week, and make some insanely decadent chocolate banana bread (you need this cookbook).  Super glamorous, as illustrated by the above photo.

I'm not the tidiest person, but I actually care about keeping my bathroom organized and clean.  It makes getting ready so much more efficient.  I keep my go-to skin and makeup products easy to access in organizers on my counter. And yes, my Clarisonic is vintage from 2009.   I suppose I'm due for an upgrade soon.

So post-bathroom tidy session, I decided to take a few pictures of my beauty favorites to share with ya'll, because I've been meaning to for awhile...

Hair things

Dyson hair dryer || Guys, this has been such a game changer.  I got it for Christmas, and haven't looked back.  I have long, thick hair, and it took a good 45-60 minutes to blow dry and flat iron all of it.  Since Christmas, I haven't used my flatiron AND it only takes about 15 minutes to blow out all my hair smooth!  I've saved SO much time and my hair is way healthier.

Moroccan Oil || I put a dime amount of this in my damp hair before blowdrying, and it makes it super shiny and conditioned.  It's also great for dry ends a few days after washing hair.

Aquage Beyond Shine || This has been my favorite shine and heat protectant spray for years.  It's doesn't get heavy, adds shine, and has a really pleasant fragrance.
IGK Dry Shampoo  || This is just a really, really great dry shampoo.  I've tried tons and this one is my fav hands down.

Pureology Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner || I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my fav Pureology shampoo and conditioner.  I've been using it about ten years, and when I travel or use something else I immediately notice how much drier and tangled my hair is.  It's that good.

Shhowercap || I upgraded my cruddy shower cap a few months ago, and it was such a good decision.  This shower cap doesn't leave the big line on your forehead and does a much better job keeping the moisture out.  Plus it's SO much cuter.

Makeup

\
For my 3-minute face, I slather on a little Tarte tinted moisturizer, a quick swipe of Glossier Boy Brow, and finish with a dusting of Tarte bronzer on my cheeks and eyelids.

For my 10-minute face, I swap in Arbonne CC cream, applied with a BeautyBlender (I've tried the off-brand, the silicon applicator, and so many others, and there really is no substitute!).  I also use a bit of Nars concealer (applied with a concealer brush) to brighten up under my eyes.  I use the same Tarte bronzer, but also add a little Nars blush in 'Orgasm'.  I finish by filling in my brows with the Anastasia brown pencil, apply a quick swipe of Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara, and swoosh on Dior Lipglow in pink.

If I'm really amping it up, in addition to my 10-minute face described above, I curl my lashes, use Tarte primer, Giorgio Armani liquid eyeshadow, topped off with either Becca eyeshadow or (my fav) Violet Voss palette.

Oh and not beauty related, but I keep this waterproof bluetooth speaker, which I adore, in my bathroom too.  Perfect for listening to music or podcasts in the shower and while I get ready.

Skincare

AM || I first wash my face with Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser.  I love it because it is gentle enough to use on my eyes, but actually removes makeup.  It doesn't strip the skin but gets it nice and clean.  It's also a bargain.  Then, I use Arcona's cranberry scrub a couple mornings a week.  It smells AMAZING and my skin feels so soft after using it.  I follow up with Arcona craberry toner, Tarte eyecream, and Murad mattifying moisturizer with SPF.

PM || Again, Kiehl's facewash, followed by Bioderma to remove makeup and tone, followed by Drunk Elephant hydrating gel (which I picked up this week 🙈).

My exact organizer is no longer available, they replaced the top drawer with two smaller ones, see it here.

I keep my skincare items in this basket for ease of access.

And since it's Monday that means Linkup Day! (yes, totally a proper noun)
