tweed and oxblood
I wore this on Friday for a night out with E's new boss, coworkers, and their significant others. I always get a little nervous and overthink what I'm wearing when I meet new people (specially when it seems like an important first impression...) So, I might have bought this blazer for the occasion. Initially, I picked out an oatmeal cardigan layered over this top and belted at the waist, but given we were going to a 'fancy' pizza joint downtown, I figured belting anything was probably a bad idea. (They ordered 6 appetizers and 6 pizzas for 7 people. Belting definitely would have been a bad idea.) Then, Friday evening when I was grabbing a pair of these plaid pants for a friend, and stumbled upon this pretty blazer, I knew it would be perfect for my night's plans, plus it was an additional 25% off. I'm such a sucker for sales. To give the look a little color, I opted for these H&M pants, which are buttery soft. (And I might have bought multiple colors...) Finished off with my metallic Rebecca Minkoff, comfy flats in case we ended up having to park far away from the restaurant, and these double sided pearl earrings, I felt like this outfit was a good mix of classic and trendy.
Speaking of trendy, I'm a little late to the double pearl earring party, but I'm now a fan. When I first put them on, I was afraid the big back pearls would make them fall off, but I've worn them multiple busy days, and not even had to adjust them. They're also surprisingly light, and how can you beat a $10 price tag?

ReplyDeleteI love this look--that blazer looks great with those pants. Good decision not to belt--pizza trumps a defined waist any day, haha! :)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is perfection, Jenna! :) Love every bit of it. That tweed blazer fits you perfectly, and navy and maroon look great together. The pearls bookend the white top beautifully!
