Weekend Casual

5 comments:
Sweater: Nordstrom- 40% off  //  Jeans: 7 for All Mankind |  similar under $35  //  T-shirt: T by  //  Alexander Wang |  also here  |  similar on sale  //  Sneakers: Jack Purcell by Converse | similar less expensive  //  Sunglasses: $5 at Walmart

I've worn this sweater countless times already, but this laid-back look might be my favorite.  I love its colors and the slouchy silhouette, plus it seriously couldn't be softer.  I find myself reaching for it almost every day when I change after work.  I scooped it up about a month ago, but now it's 40% off!  So if you need it, now's the time ;)
In other news, how is it already June?! May flew by!  Maybe due adjusting to my new job, or maybe the long weekend, but either way I can't believe June is here.  I'm super excited though, because I have a few fun things on my Calendar this month.  My oldest friend is starting at my place of work, finally going to a Cardinals baseball game, and I'm headed to Chicago for a weekend.  I'll get to see my best friend Eunice, and finally meet one of my blogger besties, Annie, and about 50 other fabulous instagrammers/bloggers.  Wooo!
Any fun June plans?  Have a happy Monday!

Let's Talk Orange...

5 comments:
This year, Pantone, the color Gods, included tangerine in their Spring color trend report.  I highly approve of this decision.  Orange has always been my favorite color, and when it's "on trend" finding pieces in the hue is so much easier.

Being the fan of orange that I am, my closet already contains a lot of orange... pants, skirts, sweaters, t-shirts, sneakers, the list goes on.  One item that I don't have, however, is an orange dress.  After seeing one of my favorite instagrammers wearing the perfect orange shirt dress, I set out to find some options of my own...
ROW 1   [  1  //  2  //  3  //  4   ]        ROW 2  [  1  //  2  //  3  //  4  ]

Can I just say how excited I am about how many options there are?!  I could've compiled like 80, but it's late and I figured I'd just share my favorites to help a girl out ;) (Laziness has nothing to do with it!)

Not only are there so many choices, but orange is such a versatile color!  I love pairing it with denim, navy, metallics, gray, olive, white, bright blue, and pinks... It's a surprisingly versatile tone :)

Do you wear the color orange?  Does Pantone influence what you pick out?

Have a great weekend!

The Jogger Skirt + Weekly Linkup

Skirt: Loft- on sale for $39  //  Tee: Rag & Bone- sold out (similar on sale)  //  Vest: Old Navy - 30% off with 'Thursday'  //  Sandals: Dune London- low stock, hurry! (more sizes here)  //  Crossbody: Dillards- sold out online (similar)

So, I secretly save my favorite outfit posts each week for Thursday, because thanks to the linkup more of you lovely ladies stop by :)  And this look is definitely one of my favorites.  I've worn this skirt (and the dark grey versionyes I bought both.  Now they just need to make an olive one please!) numerous times already and it's just now making the blog.  That's always a good sign for me.  Plus I love all the other pieces of this outfit; the t-shirt I had to have as soon as I saw it, need I say more about the sandals, and the mileage I've gotten out of this denim vest is insane.  Plus Sherlock made an appearance which always makes an outfit better ;)

And totally unrelated... this morning while I was checking to see if these Topshop lace-up beauties were restocked in my size (if you wear a 5.5 RUN!), I stumbled upon these in nude.  I think I need them to celebrate Thursday....  Totally valid, right?!

Tassel Neckline Dress

6 comments:

How fun are the tassels on this dress?!  I love pieces that you can throw on and instantly look pulled together, and this dress definitely qualifies.  The stretch fabric is super comfortable, and the tassel embellishment means you don't even need a necklace.  I can already tell I'll repeat this dress over and over this summer.

Lace-up Flats

Blouse: Pitaya c/o  //  Vest: Old Navy  //  Jeans: American Eagle  //  Flats: Boden  //  Bag: Old Navy (similar)  //  Earrings: House of Harlow
Happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day weekend :)  I know I did, plus the whole week is better because it's only four days!  Mondays off are seriously the best.
On Saturday, I wore this outfit wedding dress shopping with my high school best friend.  I think she found 'the one' and I'm so excited for her!  This was the second appointment we'd gone to, and while she looked stunning in all the gorgeous options, it was so fun to see her get really giddy about a particular dress.  Makes me almost miss planning my wedding.  Almost ;)
And, completely unrelated, remember how I mentioned ordering these shoes in a post last week?  Best decisions ever.  Okay, so maybe that's exaggerating a little, but they're pretty fantastic.  I normally wear an 8, but they don't make that size, so I went with the 8.5 and they're perfect.  I've seriously walked miles in them already and they're super comfy.  And beautiful.  So beautiful.  They come in a burnt orange and silver too, and it's taking all my self control to not order another pair.
Thanks for reading!

Casual Layers + Weekly Linkup

22 comments:

Finally getting back in the swing of blog world.  Yeah!  With my new job, I'm working quite early and I still haven't adjusted completely.  Well, more accurately, I haven't adjusted to waking up before 5:30am and still functioning after 6:00pm.  Pathetic, I know, but I've basically just been crashing when I get home each day, and before I know it daylight is gone and blog photos are impossible.  Life is so hard ;)

Anyhow, I wore this to work yesterday and given that it wasn't a t-shirt and jeans, it seemed worth documenting (working in IT where basically everyone wears jeans and t-shirts has severely diminished my motivation to "dress up").  I really liked how this open cardigan layered up with the denim jacket, and the $15 price tag makes me definitely consider getting another color(s)....

And because I missed 'What I'm Wednesday' and I'm actually 'what'ing stuff...
Excited about: Sherlock's new doggie door.  It's seriously life changing.
Perusing: My favorite sale of the year.  Can I justify more shoes??
Watching: Taken 3 with the hubs -- Spoiler- it's pretty terrible.
Thinking: I should have eaten more than popcorn and Sour Patch Kids for dinner.
Looking forward to: wedding dress shopping with my bestie this weekend.

White Flats for Summer

No comments:

Earlier this season, I scooped up a pair of budget-friendly white Birkenstocks, uncertain of how much I'd actually wear white shoes.  Well, I quickly realized the answer was a lot.  White shoes are so perfectly summery, go with everything, and make your little piggies look quite tan.  So, I went ahead and rounded up a few more diverse styles of white flats, because I've got to consider all the options, right?  I Think my two favorites are the embellished white leather espadrilles and the pointed toe ones... but they're all so pretty.

Are white flats something you'd wear during summer?

Three Strap Pumps

4 comments:

Oh hey friends!  Long time no blog.  Sherlock ordered these shoes for me for Mother's Day {he has a bit of an online shopping problem ;) } and I had to share them as soon as they arrived!  I've been drooling over the Gianvito Rossi 'Carey' triple strap pumps for months.  The price point of those however, is a littttle (lot) steep.  So, I've been in search of a Gianvito Rossi Carey dupe and was thrilled when I stumbled upon these beauties at Gilt.  They're real leather and the workmanship was quite impressive.  I was a little apprehensive that I'd be paying for the design rather than quality, but I was happily proven wrong.  They are pleasantly comfortable and nail the original style perfectly.  If you've had your eye on the real thing, I would definitely recommend scooping these up, especially at less than 10% the price of the original.
