I love an outfit that's a little athletic-inspired. A sporty cut, a varsity stripe on the sleeve, or just good ol' sneakers paired a little unconventionally.
Funny story though, as a kid I was super girly and definitely not a fan of 1) athletic-inpired fashions or 2) actual sports. I played softball for one year when I was five and thought it was stupid, so I quit. Then I tried my hand at dance and gymnastics. Meh. Due to my total disinterest and general lack of skill regarding all things athletic, I took my freshman gym credit over the summer before high school to avoid embarrassing myself and having to get sweaty in the middle of the day #highmaintenance. My teacher was a football coach who wouldn't take no for an answer, so when I told him I didn't do sports and I definitely didn't run, he laughed at me. That summer was the first time I ever actually ran "the mile" and I got totally hooked. I ended up playing lacrosse and running cross country through high school, and played intramural soccer and ultimate frisbee in college.
So thank you high school gym teacher, without you my sneaker collection wouldn't be nearly as impressive ;)
And since it's Wednesday, here's a mini "What I'm Wednesday"...
Watching: The 100. I'm still not sure if I like it, but I've watched the rest of Netflix. Yup. All of it ;)
Wearing: My fav 7fam slim boyfriend jeans. I have the 'bright light broken twill' and 'regal broken twill' and I can't pick a favorite. I did go up one size from my usual in the lighter pair. More styles available here.
Living on: Cool Chocolate Mint Clif Bars. I eat one for breakfast everyday because they're 1) easy 2) delicious 3) caffeinated 4) basically healthy. And sometimes for lunch... yeah I'm the laziest lunch packer ever.
Eyeing: This adorable blue tassel necklace thats only $14 with code JENNA20. Can I use my own coupon code? Is that kosher? I vote yes, especially because I kind of want the other colors too.
Listening to: Tiebreakers Podcast. One of my instal-favorites Sam (@iworepantstoday) recently started a podcast featuring interviews with people that abandoned corporate jobs for less traditional careers and it's awesome and she's awesome and you should listen.
Excited about: Season 14 of Project Runway starts this week! I am planning a premier party Thursday night. Seriously.

Such a fun, sporty, casual outfit. I saw a similar skirt while I was out shopping and wanted to buy it in the worst way, but when I tried it on you could see right through it because it was white! They didn't have any other colors. Such a bummer.
ReplyDeleteDid I ever tell you that the winner from a couple seasons ago, Michelle, is cousins with my Nordies SA, Amber?! I love project runway! If I didn't have to do a ton of stupid packing for the weekend, I would totally crash your party! :) And I loved the story about you turning into an athletic butterfly. I too thank your coach because now I have a newfound love for sneakers also!
