Listening to Serial // If you've never listened to the Serial podcast, you should probably start ;) The first season was fantastic, and I've loved keeping up with the case through the podcast Undisclosed. Season 2 has been a little slower; it took me up until these last two episodes to really get into it, but I'm hooked now. The first few episodes seemed a bit redundant, and I quickly found myself frustrated with the fact that it felt like Sarah Koenig was sympathizing an awful lot with Bowe before even discussing whether or not what he did was okay. However, I am stubborn and unwilling to give up, so I gutted it out through some boring/frustrating episodes (anyone else totally not into listening to Mark Boal?? Because I definitely miss Sarah's interviews with the actual subject).
Wearing Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper // I received a few shades of this lipstick from Influenster for testing, and I am in love. My favorite is Pepper, because it's a really pretty, neutral shade great for everyday. It's super moisturizing, but stays in place. It also smells and tastes uh-mazing. One of my biggest hangups with most lipstick is the scent- it always smells waxy or artificially fragranced, but this one smells of citrus. I definitely want to pick up a nude shade of this formula now too.
Eating sweet potatoes + goat cheese // Lately I've been bringing a sweet potato and goat cheese to work for lunch multiple days a week, and it's becoming a favorite. I just pierce the raw sweet potato with a fork a few times, microwave it for 3 minutes, flip it, microwave another 3 minutes, and then slice it open and mix in a disc of goat cheese. That's it! It's super easy, cheap, and reasonably healthy. When I first open my goat cheese, I cut the log into discs and freeze them separately in mini baggies, so I can just grab one the morning of, and by lunch it's defrosted enough in the fridge that it will melt and mix in to a hot sweet potato effortlessly.
Loving new printed Nike Internationalists// I ordered these last week and have already worn them three times. I love the printed suede, and the black and beige combo just seems to match everything. For reference, I've gone a half-size up in all my Internationalists, and these run a hair bigger than my other pairs, but the half-size up was still perfect.
Drinking True Lemon lemonade// I've been on the hunt for a good soda/gatorade-substitute for awhile now, and these handy little packets are perfect. I don't do artificial sweeteners, and a few of the other limited options I tried caused serious bloat (I'm looking at you, Great Value all natural drink enhancer). Ultimately the black cherry limeade, raspberry lemonade, and peach lemonade are my favorites, although I do like to mix it up with the all natural Crystal Light and Arbonne Energy Fizz Sticks when I need a caffeine pick-me-up.
Doing Pure Barre // I took my first Pure Barre class over the weekend and it was SO HARD. And I was SO bad. Yet for some reason, I was really excited about the idea of doing it again, so when the studio owner told me they had a Groupon running, I couldn't resist! I've got 10 classes to redeem over the next 30 days and hopefully by the end of it, I'll be a little better.
