Friday Finds

You guys, I already did too much damage at the Nordstrom Anniversary pre-sale (see what I got here), and yet here I am staring at a dozen items in my online shopping carts using all my self-control not to hit "checkout".

So, maybe if I share them here, I will be satisfied.  Or I'll do what I did when I posted this collage and accidentally buy it all...

At J.Crew get an additional 30-60% off with code 'GOSHOPPING'.  The floral pants and lace applique tank are only $12!!  The pants keep getting restocked in various sizes, so I'm stalking them waiting for mine :)

Okay, poll time.  Anyone else totally frustrated with how fast J.Crew marks stuff down these days?  I ordered the geo brushtroke blouse at 30% off and before I even had a chance to open the package it was demoted to the additional 40% off sale section.  (Totally returning and buying again or getting a price adjustment...)  Don't get me wrong, I love a good bargain, but I've basically accepted that I shouldn't buy anything from J.Crew until it hits clearance.  Ugh.  Rant over.

And of course what's sitting in my Nordstrom shopping bag:

PS- in case you didn't know, lol, the Anniversary Sale is live for all shoppers today.  Check out my shopping tips before you head over to help make good decisions :)

And a few of my "staple" picks that I already bought, or bought a full-price variation earlier this year...

Zella live-in leggings: seriously the BEST leggings.  They come in a few different colors and run TTS to a little generous.  I have both size Small and Medium in different styles and find myself having to pull the Mediums up occasionally.

Current/Elliot Stiletto jeans: if I had to pick a favorite denim brand, it would be Current/Elliot.  They fit a tremendous range of body shapes, do magical things to bums, and don't stretch out like many other brands.  Plus, I like the simple pocket design, and the slighty cropped length makes them work for basically any height.  This year there is the perfect dark-medium wash jean available in the Anniversary sale, and I highly recommend them.  They fit true to size, but don't have a ton of stretch.  I do between a 26-28 in designer denim, but most often a 27, and that is the size I went with in this exact jean, and basically all other Current/Elliot stilettos.  If you're between sizes, I may recommend sizing up, due to the lack of stretch in this particular style.

Nike Internationalist sneakers:  I own three colors of this style of sneaker and they are hands down my favorite sneaker.  They also don't go on sale very often, especially in neutral tones, like this light gray.  You should buy them all so I can't add another to my collection ;)  PS- I wear an 8.5 in these and an 8 in all other shoes, I'd recommend sizing up a half size.

(For sizing reference, I'm 5'8" 130# with a 27" waist and proportionally wide hips.  I typically wear a size 4.)

And while I'm revealing what a shopaholic I am... Here are a pair of strappy pointed flats I just ordered, to satisfy my need for these at half the price.   And I'm wearing these sandals today, and you might need them in your life.  Especially for $30.  (I went a half size down.)

That's it for now.  Sorry if you've have enough of the Anniversary sale and stupid collages (I know I have... #hypocrite)  Hopefully my earlier post helps shed some light on what's worthwhile to buy.

I was out of town this week in Colorado, but next week I'll return to the usual programming :)  Have a good weekend!

  1. Ugh, I hear you about J.Crew. I ordered a skirt three times because they kept reducing the price (and returned the two more expensive skirts). It ended up going even less expensive after my third order, but it was on final sale so I couldn't return that one. Oh well. It really is irritating, isn't it?!

I shopped the Nordstrom sale this morning right when they updated the site. I grabbed the Zella leggings, bras, earrings, and a felt hat to try. Hopefully everything ships!
