3. Why are Tampons Still Taxed? While Cosmo isn't normally my source for quality reading material, I thought this was a pretty fascinating article. The author brings up a few points that have never crossed my mind, notably that more states tax tampons than candy and while menstruation is an involuntary bodily function, like going to the bathroom, tampons and pads cost money in public restrooms. Imagine if toilet paper and seat covers cost each time you used them??
4. American Giant. I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I ordered my first item from American Giant, the company known for making the best ever sweatshirts. Their claim does not exaggerate. I am OBSESSED. I got the classic crewneck in Navy... and Branch. The fit, construction, and feel is superb. My only complaint is that the 'branch' color is less olive looking in real life than the stock photo illustrates, but it's still a pretty color and frankly, I would happily wear these no matter what the color. I went with the medium, and it's got some room, but it's perfect to layer and is still flattering.
5. This week was our 3 year anniversary and my birthday! Yay!! I got a new camera lens (thanks parents!) and I am SO excited. All along I thought I had a 50mm f/1.8, but alas I had a 40mm f/2.8. While it's been a solid lens for me, the f/2.8 makes getting strong bokeh much more difficult. I also got a pretty new handbag, the coolest lightbulbs ever, and nearly 5lbs of coconut chocolate covered almonds (you can find them at Costco but they're a limited time item- hurry!). Don't judge hahaha.
Yay Friday! Hope everyone has a great Friday and fun-filled (or Netflix-PJ-filled...) weekend! Tonight we have lofty plans of Froyo and Netflix and tomorrow we're going out for a fancier Anniversary/Birthday dinner :)
