You guys, I have never liked hot pink, or really any shade of pink for that matter. I consciously do not buy it, however for some reason I kind of love this dress (which PS is under $75!). I needed a formal dress for a wedding last weekend, and no joke I ordered and returned about a dozen dresses before I found a keeper. I definitely did not expect this neon number to be my favorite though. It's just so pink!
Because this dress is so crazy bright, I opted to keep everything else super simple. I do wish I had a nude bag to pair with it, but I don't utilize small bags often, so I didn't feel like a nude one was a very responsible purchase.
Speaking of (ir)responsible(?) purchases... these shoes. I think they may be the most expensive shoes I've ever acquired. That being said, I did save up blogging credits to buy them, but the price still makes me a little afraid to wear them. The style is so SO versatile, and they're reasonably comfortable for how high they are, but they may be relegated to special occasion shoes out of sheer paranoia. Even if I don't wear them too often, they still look mighty beautiful sitting in my shoe closet ;)
I also scooped up these earrings (which are on sale!) to go with the necklace I already had. While I'm not a huge drop earrings person, I definitely see myself getting a lot of wear out of them, especially since I have a few more pieces of the Kendra Scott suspended pearl set (including the Carole which I adore) which they'll mix and match with perfectly.
A contributing factor to why I don't wear much pink is because I always feel rather pink. So in the interest of not being pink and blending in with my dress, I prepped with all the self-tanners. I used NKD SKN Gradual Glow (see my full review here) the entire week before on my arms, shoulders, legs, and face, and the day before I used the NKD SKN tanning mousse on my arms. I found that my legs, no matter how much I exfoliated and moisturized, just got too blotchy with the saturated mousse, but it did wonders on my arms.
I also kept my makeup super simple. Just a dusting of bronzer, some brow definer, and my favorite nude gloss in shade 201 over a pink lip pencil in 'posy perfect'.
I laughed when I read the title of this post and saw the dress. Yes it is a lot of pink but somehow you made it work! You go girl.

You look amazing in this pink dress! And those shoes are stunning. I just wore a similar (cheaper copy pair) to a semi-formal event. And I do love them except they really hurt my feet (I guess where I get what I paid for)!
