The Black Midi Skirt + Hello Monday Linkup

Hello Friends! Happy Memorial Day!

This is what I wore to church last Sunday.  Today, I'm actually wearing these very patriotic shorts, paddle boarding, sunbathing, and drinking lots of peach lemonade :)

Now more about this outfit...

I scooped up this skirt in October of 2015, anticipating possibly wearing it to a St. Louis Fashion Week event, but it was just snug enough in the waist that I filed it away in my closet for "when I start working out again" (here's what I wore instead...)  Fast forward a year and a half, and I pulled it back out to see if it fit, and lo and behold it did!  With room to spare even.  

So when I was hastily getting ready for church last Sunday, I first grabbed this skirt enthusiastically, then these shoes because I.am.obsessed (they are SO comfortable!) and rounded out the look with a classic striped tee and denim jacket.  Maybe it's just because I actually did my hair and makeup, but I really dug this look.  It combines classic pieces with a little casual edge, which is right up my alley.

And this necklace 😍 I amassed a small collection of these necklaces last Summer, and for some reason I filed them away over the Winter, so they feel like new again!  They're so unique, and I love supporting small businesses (not to mention they're way nicer AND come in more colors than the BaubleBar version that came later...)
