working on finding/making a job: So... I put my two weeks in on Friday and it's definitely a bittersweet feeling. I've been ready to move on for some time, but I just couldn't figure out what I want to do. I still have no idea, but what's better motivation than unemployment? (And our lease is up and it is past time to leave Bloomington.) I majored in technology management and legal studies at IU's business school, then worked in operations, business processes, and system requirements for two years. My post-college experience was all fine and dandy, but I don't think it's what I want to do long term. I'm trying to decide if I can do something freelance; I think that being self-employed is just in my blood. Both my parents own their own businesses, and I started my own jewelry business at a really young age (we're talking single-digits). I had business cards, a mailing list, and sold my creations at craft fairs and at both my parents' places of work. By the time I was in middle school I had a shockingly profitable little business. (which I abandoned in high school to work retail...) Long story short, I'm job shopping/brain storming to decide what on earth I'm going to do come mid-July. Not terrifying at all.
watching pretty little liars: guilty pleasure TV right here... think Mean girls meets some cheesy mystery, only less funny. I'm totally enthralled though.
patiently looking for chambray pants: I'm obsessed with a pair by splendid, but there's no way I'll ever get $138 of wear out of a pair of socially acceptable pajama pants. So I'm patiently stalking the internet for a not $138 pair. Ideas?
excited for the long weekend: The fourth couldn't come on a better day. Long weekends are the best, well almost as good as shorter work weeks ;) My weekend will probably be a lot of cleaning and packing, but I'm sure we can make some time for disc golf, bocci, BBQing, and lighting some stuff on fire. Any big plans for the Fourth?
loving stylebone pearl collar: How fun is this necklace? I want to wear it everyday. It's such a fun statement piece, that amongst the many predictable statement necklaces is beautifully unique.
eating healthy honey mustard chicken salad: When I get stressed I lose my appetite, so I have to consciously plan my meals ahead or else my day ends up consisting of a rice cake, mountain dew, and a few bbq potato chips. Not that this happened yesterday #dontjudge. My go-to make ahead lunch recipe is a creamy and delicious honey mustard chicken salad made with greek yogurt, cranberries, celery, and almonds. It's addicting. I plan to actually measure ingredients while making the next batch, so I can write up the recipe. You're welcome ;)
Good luck Jenna!!! You've got entrepreneur in your blood, so keep your head up and the right thing will happen!!!
