New York Day One

We left for New York Saturday Morning and made it to our hotel by the early afternoon.  This is the outfit I changed into once we settled into our hotel.  I wore it to the Kendra Scott open house we attended, and it was perfect because the dress was nice and breezy (it was hot!), the shoes were comfy, and the denim jacket provided the perfect hair protection when it rained.  I looked really cool with my jacket on my head.  I bet all the people at the fashion shows across the street thought I was edgy.  So edgy.
sorry the photos aren't great, I was really good at snapchatting (roberts_jenna) the weekend, not so good at real photographs
The Kendra Scott open house was fantastic.  Seriously, KS has the greatest employees ever.  I just want to sit around with them eating finger food, watching romcoms, and basically just be their best friends.  So if you haven't shopped KS jewelry before, you should ;)  Just remember that it's a phenomenal company that supports a ton of great causes and has down to earth, adorable employees.  Also be excited for their Winter Line launching in October.  It is.So.Good.  I did take photos of that, but I have to keep you on edge a few more weeks!

We were pretty hungry before the KS open house, so after we were basically famished.  We stopped at the first place that Zomato (my holy grail restaurant app- if you don't have it you need it!) recommended highly on our way back to the hotel- The Hummus and Pita Co and it was SO delicious.  And, AND they had ginger ale on fountain.  It basically made my day.  I love ginger ale.  I also love well executed mediterranean food, french fries and great customer service, and they had it all.

After dinner, Caryl and I changed into comfy clothes and set out to do what we do best, shopping! We hit up H&M, where I got the perfect emerald and navy flannel, this skirt which I didn't try on and accidentally got a size too big but plan to exchange, and this sweater which I'm undecided about, because I kind of feel like a donkey...  We also went to the Herald Square Flagship Macys and WOW.  It was HUGE.  Like 9 stories tall, an entire city block, everything you could ever want to buy from a department store GINORMOUS.  I also found a few things I didn't know I ever wanted from a department store, namely a NYC-themed potholder, apron, and pvc pouch with SHERLOCK ON IT.  Best souvenir ever.

Then, because shopping in the biggest department store ever (almost literally, I think it is actually the biggest in the US) is hard work, we refueled with Pinkberry, which was INSIDE the Macy's.  Are you convinced this is the greatest Macy's ever yet??!?  (They also had the coolest fitting room mirrors in the whole world!  There were buttons that let you adjust the lighting (indoor/outdoor/fluorescent/etc) and they were basically magical.  I want one, but can't find them on the interweb.  Sigh...  So Macy's, if you see this, you should sell those mirrors. Kthanks.

We retired pretty early that night, so we could get plenty of beauty rest for Sunday and the RewardStyle party, more on that later this week!

PS- in non-New York news, I really celebrated Shoesday Tuesday yesterday... with not one.. not two... but three pairs of shoes.  Please don't judge...  The booties are $35, originally $119 and I wanted them last year.  They also come in navy or sand.  The jacquard flats are 25% off and the most beautiful shoes I've ever seen, and the leopard flats are pointy and leopard so do I really need to justify them?  I ordered them from Shopbop with credit, but I linked them from another store where they're 30% off!
