Happy Cyber Monday! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and hopefully break from the usual routine. I know I did- my time off was super relaxing. This 5 day week is going to be tough 😝
It was the first time in a few years I didn't go out shopping on Black Friday, the only place I went was the climbing gym for a few specials, ha! I did venture out Saturday to take care of a couple of returns and it wasn't even that busy! I guess everyone really is doing their shopping online now.
Speaking of which- this 'neckerchief' was an online purchase, so I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. After a day of wear, I gotta say, I really dig it. Neckerchiefs are particularly convenient given the current mockneck trend- they're very compatible.
This was a weird week. It was the first that was really chilly, and I think I kind of forgot how to dress for it. I look back and am 'meh' about this whole week of outfits. I like pieces, but the overall looks are all kind of lukewarm. Hopefully I figure out this whole cold-weather, business casual dressing thing sooner rather than later.
This last weekend was the husband's birthday, and this is a short work week. Yessss.
I have family coming into town, so I've been concentrating most on what I'm cooking for the holiday (this cranberry-jalapeno salsa over goat cheese is a favorite every year!), and haven't put much thought into what to wear. Now that I'm posting these photos though, I think these leggings are in order. They're super comfortable and stretchy. This sweater is on its way to me now, and I think it might be the perfect pairing.
I scooped up this suede jacket earlier this season, a little unsure what I would pair it with since so much of my fall wardrobe is cool shades like olive and gray. Usually I don't make impulse buys like that, but I absolutely loved the cut and color so I figured I'd work that detail out later. Well turns out I have a few more colors in my wardrobe than I recollected, and quickly found it went perfectly with teals, navy, and wine.

I'm still uncertain about the tights selection in this look- I think I'd prefer navy, but I don't have any, so rust it was!
I traveled much of this last week for work and got home late Friday night, so I was very excited to have a relaxing weekend. I spent Saturday morning finishing up the second season of Stranger Things (#teamSteve #RIPyurtle) and catching up with Sherlock. Then husband and I saw Thor Ragnarok (so good!) and got lunch at a fun spot downtown. The rest of the day was pretty low key- groceries, unpacking, laundry, and it was welcome given my busy week.

Other than guilt-free lazy weekends, weekday traveling also has additional perks, like coming home to packages 😉
I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to wear with these jeans, so I was pleasantly surprised when two other items in my parcel went perfectly- this gauze popover and cozy cableknit sweater. Plus I could finish it all off with one of my favorite pairs of shoes- which are on sale for under $50!
