The other day I was chatting with a coworker about my love of boots (sometimes I think my mostly male colleagues must just humor me...), and I realized they truly are my favorite footwear. I mean I wear my birkenstock sandals all year long, but they don't make me excited like a chic pair of ankle boots. However, picking just one pair of boots I quickly found was impossible. So instead I limited it to six favorites, because these six booties literally span every occasion, match every outfit, and are all tremendously comfortable.
I'll start with these snakeskin embossed leather beauties.
I saw
this gorgeous pair at
Diba True's Fall Preview event all the way back in September. They didn't have stock yet, and the absolutely charming founder, Joe, volunteered to send me a pair as a belated birthday gift when they arrived. So I've had a couple months to put them to good use, and I can't say enough about how comfortable and how versatile they are! The color somehow goes with black, brown, and navy, and they look just as cute with pants as skirts and dresses.
And as promised, 5 more favorites.
Everlane Boss Boot in BurgundyI had been hunting for a bootie that looked equally good with trousers for work and dresses, and these nailed it. I was initially a little apprehensive about the $200+ pricetag, but they are absolutely worth it and some. They are tremendously comfortable, allow for normal socks (a pet peeve of mine is booties that are cut too low for socks... if it's cold enough for booties imma wear socks alright?!), AND dare I say sexy? I'll say it. They are sexy. They have a really tailored silhouette and a severe pointed toe I can't get enough of them. I've styled them endless ways, I'm sure you'll see them in outfits on the blog to come.Blondo Dan Lace-up Waterproof BootiesThese were hands down the most worn item in my closet in November; I think I wore them eight times, which is unparalleled given the quantity of shoes I have. They're waterproof and extraordinarily comfortable. I can wear them all day (and I stand at my desk at work a decent amount) without any issue. I primarily wear them with black tights and dresses/skirts, and they have such a flattering silhouette. Frye Vicky Engineer Leather BootI have a soft spot for Frye because that was the brand of my very first pair of "investment" high quality leather boots back in 2009. I still have and wear that pair today. I've since added the Frye Vicky engineer booties to my collection, and they get loads of wear. They're one of my favorite booties with skinny jeans and a slouchy sweater for a super cozy look (see full outfit details here). They're definitely a lot more rugged and casual, so they lack the versatility of some of my other booties mentioned here, but the comfort and durability contribute serious points to the overall wardrobe utility. Aquatalia Carie Water Resistant BootieGuys, I almost feel mean sharing this pair because I can't find them on the internet anymore and they're just so good. I'd been contemplating the value of a sock bootie in my wardrobe for a bit when I stumbled upon these for 60% off in Nordstrom's MLK day sale back in January. There was just one pair left in my size and a size 11 left, so I hastily pulled the trigger since Nordstrom has such easy returns. Before they even arrived, I had determined I was going to return them because it was such an impulse buy and the last thing I need is more shoes. Then upon opening the box and trying them on just to be sure, I had to keep them. They're so buttery, comfortable, practical (water resistant suede, yes please!) and flattering. They look so cute with cropped jeans and dresses/skirts alike. I also didn't have anything this warm shade of brown that goes with a surprising amount of my wardrobe. I've already worn them three times, and I couldn't be happier with them.
Toga Pulla Multi-strap BootsAh, an oldie but goodie. I've had these since 2016 and I still get excited to wear them. They cost more than I probably would have ever spent on my own, but I put credits from a Shopbop partnership at the time toward them and am so glad to have them in my closet. They are such a fun edgy pop to any outfit (see here) and look equally stylish with jeans and skirts/dresses. They only get more comfortable with time and the craftsmanship is beautiful. The only downside of these is that the buckles do jingle a little when you walk, so if you work in an office that is oddly quiet at times, you might get some funny look. Absolutely no experience there ;)So there we have it! Six booties to address all your winter wardrobing needs. What's your favorite style? Did I miss an occasion or outfit? Have a great day!
I love a good pair of booties and the snakeprint is fabulous.
