Business Casual + Hello Monday Linkup

After sharing a few throwback posts on Facebook, I got a couple follow-up comments and emails inquiring why I don't share many business casual looks anymore.  The short of it is that I no longer have to dress 'business casual' for work, so I pretty much don't wear it period.  That being said, business casual occasions do sometimes arise, so I like to keep some good staples in my wardrobe for those occasions.

My most recent collaboration with Banana Republic presented the perfect opportunity to add a few of those staples to my wardrobe.  These denim trousers are a really modern, flattering pant and this tie waist sweater is super cozy and versatile.

My Dagne Dover tote is also one of my favorite items to pull a business casual look together.  It easily accommodates my macbook, a notebook, water bottle (there's actually a sleeve inside just for that- mega bonus points!), computer and phone chargers, and so much more.  The design and compartments are tremendously thoughtful, there really is no comparison.  It's also crazy durable.  The coated canvas can withstand anything.  I once dumped a cranberry juice all over/inside of it, and was able to rinse it with soapy water and it was like new.  Had that happened with a leather bag, I would've panicked.

I also finally added this pendant to my Kendra Scott collection.   I have and adore the coordinating earrings, but missed the pendant when they released it the first time.  It's been restocked as a 'classic' piece, so when I got an email for 15% off all necklaces, I immediately ordered it!  I have already worn it SO many times.  The combination of silver and gold makes it super versatile, and I love the unique shape and filigree.

This pendant and my Kendra Scott Carole in 'lapis' (which might I add is sold out almost everywhere now, so hurry if you need it!) practically cover all my jewelry needs- I wear each one multiple times a week.  The rest of the lapis collection is SO good too.  I think next I'll need some earrings to match my Carole pendant.   (Update... found these on sale, and ordered them.  Ugh.)

  7. I really like this look, the gold shoes and purple tote are stunning. I don't have to dress up for work but sometimes it's nice to wear a smarter look. I usually wear jeans and a blazer if I work the weekend though.

  9. I love this look! Being a stay at home mom, I don't have very many dressy pieces at all, but I have been slowly adding some staples just in case. Thanks for this inspiration.

  10. That belted cardigan is perfection. I love how structured it looks in pictures but I'm sure it's rather loose and comfortable in person.

  13. I'm the same - don't need the "business" stuff very often, but occasionally enough that it's great to have some pieces that can go both ways. Love the cardigan! Might have to add that to my fall collection...
