You know what has had its feature?  These jeans, shoes, bag, sunnies, and scarf.  I tend to pick favorites, and all of these qualify.  I could definitely see this tee joining the ranks too.  It's SO soft and I love the casual drape.

Dresses with sneakers + Hello Monday Linkup

I'm not sure which I love more, a good t-shirt dress or a snazzy pair of sneakers.

Trick question.  I love electricity and dang did I miss it last week.  A wicked bad, albeit brief thunder storm hit St. Louis last Wednesday, and we lost power.  It didn't come back until Saturday.  No power means no AC and no Interwebz, and good grief it was a rough couple days.  But I'm officially back on the grid and it is so great.

The Jogger Skirt + Weekly Linkup

Skirt: Loft- on sale for $39  //  Tee: Rag & Bone- sold out (similar on sale)  //  Vest: Old Navy - 30% off with 'Thursday'  //  Sandals: Dune London- low stock, hurry! (more sizes here)  //  Crossbody: Dillards- sold out online (similar)

So, I secretly save my favorite outfit posts each week for Thursday, because thanks to the linkup more of you lovely ladies stop by :)  And this look is definitely one of my favorites.  I've worn this skirt (and the dark grey version- yes I bought both.  Now they just need to make an olive one please!) numerous times already and it's just now making the blog.  That's always a good sign for me.  Plus I love all the other pieces of this outfit; the t-shirt I had to have as soon as I saw it, need I say more about the sandals, and the mileage I've gotten out of this denim vest is insane.  Plus Sherlock made an appearance which always makes an outfit better ;)

And totally unrelated... this morning while I was checking to see if these Topshop lace-up beauties were restocked in my size (if you wear a 5.5 RUN!), I stumbled upon these in nude.  I think I need them to celebrate Thursday....  Totally valid, right?!

Outfit Details

Skirt: Loft ($17 option I also love)
Tee: Rag & Bone- sold out (similar on sale)
Vest: Old Navy - 30% off with 'Thursday'
Sandals: Dune London- low stock, hurry! (more sizes here)
Crossbody: Dillards- sold out online (similar)

And because Thursday is obviously cause for celebration ;) carry on below for a link up!  Woot.

Weekly Favorites Linkup & How #RemixFix2015 Silenced My Blog...

25 comments:
Sweater Wrap: BCBGeneration  //  Dress: Kosher Casual c/o  //  Necklace: Purple Peridot  //  Booties: Nine West (similar, similar)  //  Tote: Dagne Dover c/o  //  Earrings: House of Harlow

Much to my surprise, this sweater wrap has been one of my most worn items during my closet remix.  It's a really easy, cozy way to add a little visual interest to an outfit.

Speaking of closet remixing... I'm over it.  I think that my boredom with wearing the same pieces again and again has translated into blog silence, because if I'm bored with what I'm wearing, you guys definitely would be... Right?  Or at least that's how it goes in my head every time I skip photographing my outfit.  I've got a few more outfits to round out the month, but I cannot wait until March when I can dive back into the rest of my wardrobe.  Not to say I didn't learn anything from the experiment (and shop a whole lot less) but that's another post :)

Dress: Kosher Casual c/o

Sweater: Kohls c/o  //  Blouse: Loft  //  Jeans: American Eagle  //  Booties: Piperlime (similar)  //  Tote: Nordstrom

Hi friends!  It's almost Friday, wooo!!

Yesterday E had his very first solo court appearance as an attorney, and it was my first day at a "new" job.  (More on that to come.)  We went out to a celebratory dinner and this is what I wore, plus my gray utility jacket for a little added warmth.  While this may not be the most flattering sweater, I love it.  It's super cozy, and I love the barely-lavender color.  I sized up 2 sizes from my usual size so it's nice and slouchy, and long enough in the back to pair with leggings for the ultimate cozy-casual look.

Outfit Details

Sweater: Kohls c/o
Blouse: Loft
Jeans: American Eagle
Booties: Piperlime (similar)
Tote: Nordstrom

And today is linkup day!

Disclaimer... I photographed this outfit last week, as I was narrowing down what 35 items of clothing made the cut for my limited wardrobe project.  So, since you probably memorized my very important capsule, you realize this outfit isn't totally kosher ;)  The vest didn't make the cut.  It's been on the blog a few times and it is very versatile, however I just don't quite love it.  I ended up picking a couple less basic vests, but I get excited to wear them because they have more personality and I find them more flattering.

Picking out the items for my capsule ended up taking me longer than anticipated for that very reason.  Finding the perfect balance between items that were versatile, and items that were interesting proved challenging.  I didn't want a collection of 35 statement pieces, because it would become quickly obvious that I was wearing the same thing over and over again if each article was memorable.  Alternatively, 35 very versatile items could lend to a bland wardrobe.  Ultimately, I went with mostly "basics", but definitely ventured out with a few funky colors and patterns.  I have 5 or 6 pieces that are very distinct, and I'll be very curious to see how much wear I end up getting out of them (like my BCBG sweater wrap, overalls, and mauve quilted sweater).  I'll definitely be doing a recap to go through what wise and poor choices I made during the selection process.

Wanna hear a sad story?  I'm going to tell you a sad story.  It serves a purpose, promise.

Each summer during college, I would move home to work.  After a long day of packing and cleaning, my car was loaded to the brim.  It was a disorganized mess of bags, boxes, loose shoes, piles of laundry, and other very tidy college-y things.  With plans to take off the next morning, I crashed at a friend's apartment really late.  I vividly remember making the conscious decision to just lock my car, not sett the alarm.  You see, when I clicked my remote twice to set the alarm, my little car  honks really loud and that seemed like a rude thing to do at nearly 3:00am.

You know what else is really rude?  Breaking someone's window to steal their stuff.  That day, when I awoke bright and early to leave, I was greeted my a pile of glass and less stuff in my car than the night before.  My laptop and a backpack got stolen, which totally sucked.  But you know what I may have been most upset about?  Since I had packed so frantically, there was just ONE of my absolute favorite shoes in the backpack that got taken.  They were the cutest emerald green patent leather flats with a pointy toe and knot at the front, and I loved them.  (Maybe not quite as much as my stupid-expensive Apple Macbook, but I was still pretty devastated about those shoes...)  I held on to that lone shoe for years, like I would somehow stumble upon its mate.  Alas, I did not.

Fast forward many years, and depspite my accomplished status as a champion shoe shopper, I have yet to find a replacement pair of emerald green flats.  That is, until I discovered Julie Lopez shoes.  Not only are these flats tremendously comfy, but they're EMERALD GREEN.  Every pair is made in Italy, and they're superb quality.  And don't tell my poor lonely emerald flat, but I like these even more.

I'm composing this post with a sweater-clad pup next to me.  He's softly snoring and cuddled up with his favorite toy.  All I need is for someone to deliver me dinner, and all will be right with the world.
And since you're wondering, yes I did match his sweater to my lipstick ;)
