I got this skirt a couple weeks ago, and aside from chambray I had no idea what to pair with it.  So, when I found this pretty top in Soigne's sale section online, I knew it was meant to be.  The structured sleeve balances out the voluminous skirt, and the texture and seaming provides interest without the outfit getting crazy.
Speaking of crazy... remember how last week I mentioned the Chicago interview being a bust?  Well, let's just say I've never heard of a more bizarre interview.  E applied to a contract legal position and within 24 hours was contacted.  He set up the interview with a secretary, and she would not disclose the name of the interviewer, because the legal proceedings were already in progress, or so the secretary claimed.  Yeah, a little shady maybe?  Basically, we really want to find jobs in Chicago so we can move there asap, so we were willing to take the risk.  We went through dozens of practice interview questions, and E had all his talking points reviewed, strengths and weaknesses pondered, and questions prepared for the interviewer.
So the morning of the interview rolls around, and it lasts all of 20 minutes.   Apparently the interviewer basically spent the time reading his resume for the first time, and asking a few questions about litigation experience.  I won't get into details, but some questionable situations were discussed, and the whole time E couldn't shake an uncomfortable feeling.  Afterwards, we met back up downtown and grabbed lunch.  E finally had his interviewer's full name, so I obviously googled it, because googling is one of my favorite hobbies.  I didn't even have to get more complex than the guy's name to see a slew of articles about fraudulent activity he'd participated in.  Thanks, no thanks.  E promptly emailed the secretary to withdraw his application.  We want to move to Chicago, but not that badly.
On the bright side, an interesting story came out of it, and we got to spend a few days with family.
Thanks for reading!
